Why are they apart for such a big chunk of the book 😩 I don't really care about Arthur's mother and Martin bonding with Carol. More Martin and Arthur time, please

Chapter one and god is already mentioned three times. I did not know she was a religious person and since I have nothing but contempt for religion, I wonder how I'll feel about this book.

I severley disagree with the opening quote. We don't exist for any reason. Nothing has meaning. Every living thing is just an experiment of nature. Purpose is an illusion. If you strive to have purpose in your life, you'll either die trying or you'll find it wherever you want to find it. Life is to be enjoyed as much as possible, and then we die.

Imagining 16-year-old Tan in his bedroom belting Tell Me by Celine Dion and Barbara Streisand at the top of his lungs is hilarious 😂🧡
So far this book is equal parts funny, charming, and real, and I'm loving it

another book with no plot, just people being people. not my tea at all since i largely despise people; additionally, all of these characters are annoying, selfish twats (except for Cleo, at least so far). i hope i'll see at some point why this book is so beloved

I'm sad to report that this book has been a chore so far. Nothing happens for hours and hours other than tediously long conversations (this book consists almost exclusevly of dialogue) with lots and lots of people. Then around the middle, suddenly a lot happens in a short time, and then back again to endless conversations and no plot. Ugh. I'm so close do DNFing

Every time Crystal is in a scene, I want to punch her in her stupid blabbering mouth. I wish that silly cow would just stfu, or better, not be in the book at all, as no one wants to hear the cringeworthy verbal diarrhea that comes out of her mouth every time she opens it.

I am shocked, and I feel violated on David's behalf. I hate that this is happening. If my parents did this to me without my consent, my trust in them would be completely destroyed and I'd probably never speak to them again. This is a betrayal of the highest order.

I forgot what a stupid, mean, basic bitch Robert's "friend" Rose is 😒 Her biphobia is real and it makes me angry that it goes unchallenged, she never has to face the consequences of being an ignorant asshole. Why does she get so much page time?

So far this book is very blah. I don't care about any of the characters or what happens to them. Hard to believe that this is by the same author who wrote one of the best YA novels I've ever read, All That's Left In The World, which is amazing from cover to cover.

I remember this book fondly, though I have hardly any recollection of the plot (hence the re-read). Now, I can't believe I rated this 4 stars. It is 60% annoying (Paige) and 40% pathetic (Max) and I just want to punch them in their stupid, annoying, selfish, privileged faces all the time.

Man this is so bad -.- From the beginning I've constantly been like "I've read this before, but better." So far this book is only recycling what we know and love from our favourite fantasies but in a bad and cringe way. I only picked this up because I wanted to know what the fuss is about. I'll only finish it to klick that 1-star (if I have the strength to make it through).

Teachers getting blamed for students failing classes out of sheer laziness makes me FURIOUS. Are there unfair teachers who grade subjectively? Sure. But in this case, it's 100% the kid's fault. He spends his time in class on his phone or asleep, doesn't hand in assignments, and the one time he does it's a plagiarised article copy+pasted VERBATIM. Like, the nerve! But bc he's an athlete it's ok? Hell no!

This is so bleak and depressing, I really need these boys to get a happy ending 😕

Marcus is giving one green flag after the other and I love it <3 No toxic masculinity in sight, so refreshing
