I’m struggling with this a bit. While the stories are interesting & the setting is gorgeous Africa, the perspective is very colonial. Africans are portrayed exclusively as members of the servant class or as “irresponsible drivers,” “bandits,” “rebels,” etc. It’s irking me but I’m trying to read it as a product of its time.
