something about these books scratches my brain just right, i think it's the fast pace about such a slow burn topic. or maybe just the sweden of it all

Im sorry but if you are begging for an emotional response from a reader so much that you jump the shark for no reason, you already know you’ve missed the mark

halfway through the second book and I'm starting to enjoy it - i think there has been enough time for the characters to develop that i'm connecting with them a bit more

i guess it's hard to write action scenes but these feel especially lacking

Picking up a bit but I still feel like the reader is getting thrown into scenes with no context and is supposed to empathize with these characters somehow

I just feel like these books don’t live up to the hype
