I used Mr. Errico's way of taking notes and found how easy it is to write down some thinking.

Andrew is finished with Flipped
Flipped, a book by the same author as The Running Dream (the book I read previously), has been a unique realistic fiction book.

One thing I notice right away that I really enjoyed was the author's use of 2 perspectives, one from each of the 2 main characters. I like this type of writing because it can giv

I have decided to give up on this book as I feel like the author moves the story too slow and the author's writing style is old-school style and provides too much boring detail.

I am about halfway into this book, and I would give it 3 stars. While the idea of this book is good, I feel like the plot moves too slow, as the author puts too much detail into things that aren't that important. Even though some parts of the books may be a bit boring, the plot and the uncertainty for the future of the character makes me want to read on.

One major character trait I identified in the main character, Primrose, is optimism. When her dad does not come back home during a violent storm, her mom goes out to try to find him, taking a small boat against the raging winds. Primrose never saw them again. Yet, she still believes that they are still alive, somewhere. All the adults tell her that they are dead, but she still remains optimistic and hopeful.

So far, book two of The Hunger Games has been filled with twists and turns. Just when you think that all is well, you find out that they have to go back to the arena to fight. This time, getting both Katniss and Peeta out alive will be extremely hard, borderline impossible. Will the District 12 tributes defy the odds and make it out alive together once again, or will only one, or none, survive? Read on to find out.

Andrew is on page 410 of 464 of On the Come Up
On the Come Up is a heartfelt book, it shows the dark experiences that some black people must face. Police brutality. Racism. Financial instability. Drug dealing and usage. This book delves deeper into some problems people face in the world. Drugs are like cheating, you usually only use them when you're really in trouble. Even though they might seem helpful, they will come back and bite you in the butt. Karma...

The book provides a moving narrative into the struggles and hardships of immigrants trying to cross the Mexican border into America, where they seek a new home away from the violence of their pasts. I also like the writing because I can feel the characters' emotions and thinkings. At every turn of the story, I'm rooting for the character to make it out alive, and that's what I think is the best about this story.

I have read a lot of books that are similar to this book. The main idea is that for a reason, a child has to go live with a male relative away from his/her mom. The male relative ends up being an Elvis-impersonator and the child has to deal with the struggles with having a relative as an Elvis-impersonator. These types of books are very interesting and the child reacts the same way we would in situations.
