Jojo Moyes always gives me things to think about. Her characters are so down to earth and relatable. This book was quite good. I can't wait to read more of her works.

I never knew how controversial the matter of restitution can be, the intricacies and blurred lines in law. The book was quite a learning experience.

I think is a good story although the plot I felt was slow. I liked how the author allows gods narrate the story of mankind and how these stories reflect on the gods themselves (Ares, Aphrodite, Apollo Hades and Hepaestus). James, Hazel, Collete, Aubrey are the main characters who are in love during a difficult war time. Themes are; war, family, love, racism.

Third reading... still as good as the first time I read it. So much to think about.

Wonderful story. Though at the end, it felt as if the author wanted to say everything and it dragged but it was still a spectacular story.

Struggling with this book... the middle seems more like an orientation about geisha practices than it is a moving plot... nothing significant happens just a lot of talking around...

This narrator character has issues and I don't have sympathy for her...🙄

Wow. I couldn't choose between Jesse and Sam. How do you choose between two good men who have changed your life in many ways? I was rooting for them so bad. Well... life isn't white and black all the time, is it?
