The people in La Paz were made to believe that God gave then a place/station, and they shouldn’t leave or there would be consequences. The priest told tales and myths to make them follow because he wanted to stay at the top of the social pyramid and he didn’t like the thought that the natives who are on the bottom can suddenly become higher than him.

In this novella, Juana and the pearl are both very beautiful for Kino. But one shines light into his life; while the other one guides him over to the dark and evil side.

One theme I noticed is that sometimes in life, only the strong and powerful will strive. The doctor and the priest' kind treated Kino’s kind as children and animals because they were stronger. Kino's people couldn't do anything about it because they are in poverty. Therefore because the doctor and the priest have more power, they are at the top of the social pyramid.

Elsie the protagonist, an imaginative orphan, escaped the "Home for unwanted children" and began her journey outside in the world. In this book, one theme that stood out to me is that sometimes in life when you truly believe something you can achieve it. I know because, in the middle of the book, Elsie believed that she can restart the Mammoths heart again. David Walliams way of writing reminds me of Roald Dahl.

The author, Kevin Kwan has a special way of writing this novel, “Crazy Rich Asians”. He wrote in a way that makes each chapter seem like a scene in a movie, he let us know each characters characteristic the moment we read about them. His way of writing reminds me of another author’s writing, Cecilia Ahern. She wrote the novel “Love, Rosie”. She wrote in a letter form that made each character seem different.

Love Rosie is a book about having the courage to try and do something. Rosie the protagonist, and her best friend Alex have liked each other ever since they ditched school and got drunk at a bar, but they never told each other until 50 years later. And because of that, the both of them wasted the past years of their lives looking for the right person. Instead of having the grit to tell each other.

The author Cecelia Ahern has a very unique way of writing the book to show each characters life. Cecelia Ahern used letters, emails, and notes to express how each character is feeling. I like how the author put gaps in the book for us to keep thinking about it while reading the book, and later on she fills us in about what happened.

I read the twisted version of Snow White, it was really different then I thought. Even though it was the Queen's fault that she got herself killed. But I also think that it was also the King's fault that got him and his wife killed. Because after the queen had Snow White, he spoiled his daughter so much that no one seemed to care about the life of the Queen anymore.
Moral: All of your actions have consequences.

I really like the poem that Ponyboy told Johnny:
Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold,
Her early leaf's a flower,
But only so an hour,
So eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day,
Nothing gold can stay.
This represents in this book that some people are still "Gold". Which means that they are honest and pure. Ponyboy used that poem to describe Johnny and him before " the incident".

There are 2 gangs in where Ponyboy lives, the Greasers and the SOCS. Later in the book you will begin to notice that most of them are "born" in the groups even if they didn't want to be apart of it. After Ponyboy talks to one of the SOCS he finds out that they both are human and have emotions, and the only thing that basically separates them is the amount of money they own.

I believe a theme in this book is that when you do good deeds than good results will happen, because when the three boys, Johnny, Ponyboy, and Dally risked their own lives to save the lives of the kids that are stuck in the building that is on fire. They were known as heroes because of that event.

So far in the book the protagonist Ponyboy has ran away with his friend Johnny, not long before they ran away from home they bumped into some SOC's and something really bad happened that made them have to really run away for good. Before the book wasn't that attention catching but now more events has happened and they had a few problems. so now I really want to know what will happen next in the book.

In the book The Outsiders the protagonist is called Ponyboy. He is in the lower-class gang called The Greasers. So far I believe one of his character traits is that he is really observant. For example 1 night when they were driving the girls home he notices that on of the boys from the blue mustang had three rings. Which tells him that, that boy is one of the guys that had beaten his friend Johnny up really badly.

I just started this book, but so far I don't like how Chloe's 2 oldest friends told her to go to prom with them and they would help her with everything else and so far they didn't help her. I feel like they want to embarrass Chloe at her first prom. I like how the author Blake Nelson made each chapter from a different character's point of view because I really made me be able to understand each character better.

I think the theme of this book is that, when you ask for help, most of your problems would be resolved and you wouldn't be the only one going through the problem. You would have someone stand by you while you resolve it.

In this book the protagonist, Gemma keeps going off to swim in the sea at night even though her sister and father keeps telling her that is dangerous. She doesn't listen so, she gets into trouble. A connection I made is that one time when my mom told me not to play with gum, I didn't listen and I got it both in me and my sisters hair.

Another connection I can make is that when Leo asked for help she solved her problems. I can connect to that because one time I accidentally locked my phone and then I forget the password, at first I didn't tell anyone cause I knew I would get in trouble. But then I told my sister and she helped me and then my phone was unlocked!

A connection I can make text to self is that Leo, the protagonist is a witch and she isn't old enough to practice magic. But she does so anyway, and things go from bad to worse. The connection I can make is that sometimes when I don't listen to what my friends or family tell me, bad things happen and I get in trouble.
