Reasoning is thinking in a logical way. Emotions are feelings that we express to others. We use the two in our everyday lives, but what if we were only able to show our thinking or mood. That is what happen in Flatland. Only men could have reasoning, while women could have emotions. This is similar to the Rwandan genocide. The Tutsi were able to do higher class jobs, but the Hutus were doing lower skilled labor.

In the book, they talk about the infinite improbability drive. The infinite improbability drive is a way of travel. You travel from one point from universe to another in seconds. This is similar to the book, A Wrinkle in Time. The characters travel by a Tesseract, which allows them to fold space and travel quickly to different planets.

The part where I'm at (Book Ten:1812) in the book has Tolstoy mainly using 5 families which are The Bezukhovs (mainly Pierre), The Bolkonskys (mainly Prince Andrew), The Rostovs (Mainly Count Rostov and Natasha), The Kuragins, and The Drubetskoys. It's very interesting how Tolstoy uses these families and other characters like Kutuzov to change emotions from chapter to chapter, book to book.

The two most powerful warriors are patience and time- Leo Tolstoy

This quote basically sums most of the book, because during the Napoleon Era, when Napoleon and his allies attacked Russia, Russia was losing at first, but the Russian General Kutuzov waited. On, September 14, 1912 Napoleon attacked Moscow, because his men were starving, but the people evacuated, making him abort Moscow and got annihilated by Kutuzov.

War and Peace is a really long book, but the way Leo Tolstoy writes about the lives of the people in Russia, makes it more interesting then reading it from a 1000 paged hard-cover textbook that would kill me. This book now makes me think about WWII, where Adolf Hitler betrayed the Russian, attacked on them, and many civilians lives were ended. The civilians had to go through harsh conditions then the Russians in 1812

"There is no greatness where there is no simplicity, goodness and truth."
-Tolstoy
War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy talks about civilians lives in Russia after Napoleon's rule of Russia starting from 1812 until he was exiled to the island of Elba. The part where I'm at is talking about the lives of the middle-class civilians. This story is similar to the lives of Syrians, because the people both struggle because of war.
