That stuff with the horse was magical - adding depth to the story and their story. Building them both as characters. This cult stuff is...something.

I have read dozens of books where the heroine claimed utter disdain for the hero whilst panting after his lurve stick. Always I rolled my eyes at the lunacy. It was nonsensical and irritating. Never has it been done so well. Never has it been done this like. I don’t even need them to have HEA. I just need them to keep doing their thing.

I have to go to sleep. I could read this forever. Glorious. I don’t know what to expect moment to moment, and I’m beginning to like her even more. Totally gone for him.

It is so bloody romantic.

He’s so tender and optimistic and fabulous. I’m taken with him.

It feels amazing to be so into a book so quickly. To enjoy reading again.

Plain choppy sentences. Confusing as one sentence refers to something several sentences ago. All tell. No show.

I’m enjoying this story. And I’m frustrated with the larger story.

Old boy is being rather shown-up by his wife. However, none of my concerns have been addressed.

I finished Where the Dead Lie on January 29. I’ve read 3 books since then. They were all dreadful. I normally read 2 books a week. But I am so pissed at the way WTDL ended that I essentially stopped reading. I’ve had this sitting on my nightstand since the end of January. I haven’t wanted to read it. I haven’t wanted to read anything. This just sucks.

I have tried 4 books in the last few days. I’m barely reading. I hate them all. This is not an auspicious beginning.

Generic. Boring. Blunt.
I like to imagine if Austen wrote Darcy and Elizabeth as artless morons full of stilted, cheesy, wince-inducing dialect. I did that for a while today.
