I haven't paid a lot of attention to the Choice Awards this year, but looking at the fantasy category shows you some interesting developments on Goodreads. 2-3 years ago at least 3-4 actual epic fantasies, sword & sorceries or grimdark books would have made the list. Now all I see is romance within a supernatural setting.
