Pretty good book. A few parts not necessarily accurate, but for t the great majority a very insightful and personal account of the US military. Eye opening in the definition and qualification of “imperial”.

The sad thing about this book is that it was written based on his experiences about 15 years ago and many things have not changed...but a good book

Amazing how much "reading" (listening) you can get done on a long run/bike ride....I probably need to get the hardcopy of this book to really dive into some areas deeper though.

I missed out on 2 hours of listening (bike commute). BT headphones are on their last leg. Dear Santa...

Making lots of headway listening on long bikerides/etc. This is a fantastic book so far. Well written and engaging. Full of parts to pick out and discuss operational/strategic and the role of politics.

4 out of 6 books complete. This has been a nice break from my usual history, leadership, poly sci/nat sec reading. Plus, Sir Conan Doyle was a genius when it came to human nature and psychology. The concepts covered on these stories are astounding.

Almost done listening to this one...I'm a bit behind on my non-fiction reading b/c mostly I listen nowadays. But I just had to get through the Foundation Series! it's too good, and #4 is just as good as the original trilogy

This is one I'll buy and put on my bedside table or at work and reference a lot. Along with Do the Work by Steven Pressfield; Meditations by Marcus Aurelius; and a couple of others.

Great quote today..."there's always social inertia, even when technology advances..."

Ripping through this trilogy. I may have to put ol' Asimov on hold for a while to catch back up on some other books in the "to read" pile.
