I’m so enthralled in this already. I already loved McBride’s offbeat half-prose, but this is even more starkly beautiful in its approach than in her debut. The plot is far more engaging that I assumed, too.

Okay, despite Plath's reputation as the martyr of white feminism, I gotta say that she does one of the most remarkable jobs of narrating the inner dialogue of a severely mentally ill person that I've ever read. It's honestly getting a bit personal at this point. (To think that I was supposed to be admitted to the mental hospital where she stayed but that it was too full during my intake. *Scoff*)
