Someone who has read this help me...I’m not loving it! I’m not quite 1/4 way done, but it isn’t gripping me. I don’t care about any of the characters and while it supposedly isn’t allegorical, it feels “preachy”, and the writing seems stiff. At this point I definitely would not read it to children! I love other simple children’s books but I can’t seem to “get” this one. Help! Does it get better?
