Only 50 pages in and Isla is already insufferable. What happened to the badass FMC? Now she’s whiny and reckless.

Just finished Grim’s POV and I’m sorry Alex but you can’t convince me that Oro is better. I have yet to read Oro’s POV but how can it be better??

I didn’t like the time jump at the beginning of the book. I also am finding a few things unrealistic. How does a 9 month old hold her own bottle and say mama. Also, Theo sleeping in the crib? How is that safe and doable with a grown man?

When Blade tells Camilla not to draw attention and she draws attention 🙄🙄🙄

I can’t tell if I like it or not. The FMC is kind of annoying. She wants to be a “villain” but not really. Also, the switching back and forth between Celine’s POV and this mystery vampire guy is jarring.

“I was thinking,” I said, feeling bold and wanton. “That since you already had dessert, it would only be fair that I too have some.” *cringe*

Why is Lis completely uninteresting and hypocritical? She gets all indignant that Thorne wants her but is happy to be subservient to Claude. Also, how are we 3/4 of the way done with this book and the plot has hardly progressed?

One of my book pet peeves is an indecisive, emotionally stunted female MC. So far, Macy is that.

Why do I not feel bad that is Kiva answering for her past actions? I think she deserves some of the hate she’s getting right now. I hope her character gets better because it is hard to sympathize with her. Also, I find it annoying that she spent so long hiding her magic which essentially makes her powerless right now.

Delora tells it like it is. I love it.

Kiva is going to get tangled in her lies with how many she keeps telling. I really don’t see how any of this is going to end well for her.

Seems like neither Tor, Zulee, or Kiva have any real desire to rule… so lives are ruined for what? Vengeance? I mean I guess that’s a reason.

I want Kiva to embrace her magic instead of willing it away. Also, her sister is extremely unlikeable and Kiva way too tolerant.

Poor Kentarch. I felt for him and the grief he had over Issa.

Evie continues to be useless and annoying. I feel like she’s only with Aric because Jack left her but she continues to love them both. Also her mothering over Jack during the Sick House mission is overbearing and adds nothing. She really continues to be a disappointing FMC.

Evie, you telling me that you love Jack and Aric equally and can’t choose?? I’m so tired of the back and forth. I don’t get it.

Also, Jack is definitely more mature and likable this book but it doesn’t excuse Evie’s indecision.

Seriously? How self-centered and selfish can Evie be? The progression of this series has not made her more likeable. Also, she is weak and and has been for this book and most of the last book yet there’s a moment in the book where she fears she may be TOO powerful? Seriously…

Evie is now talking about how she wants to be wanted and wondering why Jack hasn’t made a move on her. GIRL, it’s been a month. Where is her loyalty to Aric? 🫠

Okay Evie… weren’t you talking about how you were committed to Aric? You’ve been separated less than what a week? You are pregnant with his baby. You know he’s not himself. YET you go and kiss Jack?? I can’t keep up with this girl 🫠🙄

“He took my hand in his, and that easy compatibility flowed between us.” Since when has it ever been easy between Jack and Evie?? They hardly had any real conversation in their relationship and always argued and suddenly they are best friends?

Evie is even more unbearable. She is obsessing over Jack and being bratty to Aric. I am also feeling a bit disappointed that her powers didn’t get a chance to fully manifest before being dampened again.

This book is looking to be another unimpressive read. Nyx is not a likable FMC at all. She is hateful and crass. Also, I don’t get this romance with Shade?? It’s super odd and doesn’t make sense.

Why is Evangeline so dumb and naive? 🙄
