Only blindness arising out of religious beliefs can overlook the reasons behind the twenty years long absence of a prodigal son. Religious self-righteousness can be extremely annoying. I feel for Jack. It's not easy to grow up among the blind and the self-righteous. All his rebellions are a call for help, to be truly seen, heard and accepted!!

I'm not a fan of Robinson's religious fiction, no matter how sublime her prose is! I'm with the black sheep already!

The stories so far feels distasteful! The writing is beautiful as usual but the stories have less to do with love and more to do with male sexual fantasies!

And what's with kundera & his parasitical women?!Why does he mention his adversary as "little man" & make fun of his insistence on integrity?He sounds like a snob who thinks he's a right to insult anyone and pass it on as a joke

Kundera writes beautifully even though I don't always appreciate how he portrays women in his stories.

He thought Tomoe children would make good teachers since they were likely to remedy what it was like being a child.

I remember my following the nesting and rearing activities of a sunbird couple as a child. I was very intrusive (touching eggs and newborn chicks) but the birds were really tolerant of me and in the end would let me come as near as 3ft(they had no choice) . This is an old book written in the late 1950s and only describes the birds seen in the author's Delhi house garden while serving as an ambassador. However I'm curious to match them with my experience of growing up in the far South.

I didn't expect it to be so good, but this is a wonderful collection of short stories!

Reading this feels like a chore right now. Probably I'm not in a mood for dystopian fiction or probably it's his inferior work. It's mildly interesting and the fact that I've to finish it in 24hrs is killing half the fun for me :-/

Toto-Chan looks like a spirited child. Highly energetic, perceptive and persistent.
