Me trying desperately to hit my Goodreads reading goal by racing through a bunch of short audiobooks XD

I didn't get a chance to read this in October so I thought ending the year with a reread would be perfect.

Look I know this is middle grade and Percy is new to the whole "Greek gods are real" concept, but wouldn't SOMEONE (I don't know... Chiron, Annabeth, Luke...) put the pieces together to realize who Percy's dad is. Water incident... water incident... water incident...

Did Scott Lynch write out this entire play in order to describe it in his book or what?

This book is set in Ohio and the “Holiday House” decked out in Halloween decorations is too real.

Listening to the audiobook at normal speed is sooooo sloooooooow

This book just referred to Weird Al as a guy who used to do parodies back in the day and the main character would listen to the Hamilton soundtrack all the time when she was in elementary school.

Oh, this just got fun and interesting

BARELY getting this in before the show. I'll probably have time to get through what I need for the first few episodes.

This is so hilariously awkward cringe. I love it. (Not the writing. The characters and situation.)

Oh wait. Nevermind. It’s just the catalyst for “let’s sleep together and then get in a fight” thing. I’m so tired of this trope.

Ooh this is fun

Noting this to use for a review: the magic system and world-building/political drama feel like a backdrop to the romance, which isn't necessarily bad, just not what I wanted. this is definitely more romantasy than I anticipated.

I'm here for these characters and relationship but man it is taking a long time for anything to happen

I love how many prompts this includes and how they relate back to the chapter topics!

This isn't as engaging as I wish it was. I think it's because it's in letter format, which makes it harder to follow the plot of the original story.

Note to self: not the audible edition but goodreads doesn't have a regular audiobook for this title even though I'm literally listening to it through Libby right now

My biggest issue with this book and all the books in this series is just the amount of characters to keep track of. And on top of that, the main characters having fake names for disguises really throws me off.

It is incredible that with everything Laura wrote and is known for she never even graduated high school.
