Oh, how I love Cheryl Strayed! And this novella is wonderful. (It's perfect for us Old Folks, who share a happy avoidance of the thorns of life, like the narrator's mother-in-law!)

Gorgeously written and straight from the heart, this is the tale of a brash Texan cattleman on a business trip to the Scottish highlands, who finds his forever wife and soulmate amidst the Highland mist, a MacGregor!

I went into this disarmed by its coziness, thinking I could nail the culprit aeons before Poirot does - but now that the cozy corners are revealed as nothing less than the usual Christie inner lacunae I am sure of nothing!

Wonderfully CHILLING!

Auerbach is the perfect author to unravel the complexities of this bloody British War of Succession, which pitted the medieval opponents of the Houses of York and Lancaster into conflict. A wonderful simplification of its main events and players!

I thought this first novel by Loingsigh could work as the story of my youthful affair with bipolar disorder... And I was right. This book is the reason I NEED postmodernism in my library! It revives my former bipolar high while I am reading it - artificially and harmlessly.
