Listened to most of this guy on audio, then my library loan ended ... welp ... either need to borrow it again, or start reading the physical book like a normal person.

I really need to devote the time to this one... it isn't that I am not enjoying it, it is literally just that I am choosing to read other things because of its size. I look at it and go ... I would be closer to finishing another book even if I were starting it right now.

Been reading this guy the past couple of days and boy oh boy do I love short fiction by King, but I also miss the depth in which his novels are able to achieve. The short fiction structure is great for a spook, but his talent shines when he can really flesh out the horror and build up our heroes.

I'm LATE. We did the book club episode on this one already, I did skim the last half, but I like it enough to want to read the rest in detail. So, here we are... what I have read legit, vs. What I skimmed. #terriblebookclubmember

Highly recommended by a coworker, I have to agree, this guy is really good. Funny, and interestingly constructed for a kids book.

STORY TIME BOOK. STILL GOOD GUYS.

The experience of reading this book aloud is akin to being picked to read aloud during popcorn reading when you are not prepared. I do not miss that sensation. Holy shit is this prose difficult to read. Not bad, just ... verbose ... and "grandiloquent" Gretchen chipped in, "I feel like we are reading but also studying for the SATs."

When I asked Gretchen if there were any books in her career as a writing Major that she found particularly helpful or insightful this was what she picked out.

I grabbed some others that called out to myself, but I trust the girl and I figured I would start here.

I understand why she likes this one. It gives really solid advice but isn't a sterile, cut and paste, how to guide. Very funny. Enjoying it already.

Actually, enjoying this one a whole lot... have to resist picking it up to read on my own and wait for Taylor.

Shoot me now, I swear to god. I don't know ... but I might just hate Elliot more than Quentin ... its a close race ...

Reading this one with Taylor, we are enjoying it. I definitely feel I would be whizzing through it if I was reading on my own. We shall see how this works out.

I'm reading this aloud to Gretchen and holy cow does it let me have fun and be a sassy mother fucker.

This will be finished today. I swear it. I will do the thing. I am strong enough. I do like it ... it is slow ... I thought things were resolving but they might actually just be spiraling more. We shall see.

Who is ready for spoopy Halloween bibliomancy? Not me! I'm only about halfway done with this book. It good though. It good.

Story Time with Gretchen is best way to read. One should always read books together. Also we love how chunky these books are. More chunky books for kids please and thank you!

I'm putting this book down. I have tried and tried to get through. I have been holding off reading a book I am genuinly excited about in an attempt to get this read. I can't do it.

I am not sure how I feel about this one. I do have an uncorrected proof so it is possible that certain little things that bothered me have been polished by the time this comes out but honestly I am kind of just meh about this. I am only just starting I suppose.

Rereading this as a buddy read, or peg asp "reading" it for the first time seeing as the last time I listened on audio. This experience is already very different and I loved it the first time. Dear god it only gets better.

I don't often enjoy books by child narrators. Simply because of the language involved but everyone says this is worth it for the story so I'm gonna try and push through.

I WILL FINISH YOU TONIGHT! YOU WILL BE CONQUERED! I am really enjoying it though. If you haven't picked this up yet I would highly recommend it! Especially since there will be a book club episode on it up!

I definitely find this interesting ... The story has many pieces and I am waiting for them all to come together ... Or perhaps they don't ... Perhaps this is a bread crumb trail that leads no where but the journey will be interesting none the less.

Trying to finish this up in the next couple days so that I can write a review of it for Wednesday since it comes out on Tuesday! So excited. This is gonna be good. I can just feel it.

I am having thoughts on the way this story is constructed with long, beautiful, flowing prose describing scenes, people, and places interspersed with crisp, cut dialogue from the characters. As if the story is in the setting rather than the discussions.

Doing some ARC reading tonight. This is a short book so I might be able to finish it in one sitting and that would be lovely because it gets our request to review numbers up. Necessary. Doing the thing

So beautiful, so enchanting... Somewhat heartbreaking as well though ...
