Some goods are prestige items. Underwear, computers, insurance, shoes have different degrees of visibility and marketing private aspects (4 wheel drive vehicle, pentium inside, Calvin Klein undies, bottled water) do extra to make unseen visible.
Consumerism in youth undermines energy for other things, even promote crime(?) so as not to be excluded or too low in social order. Crime helps some earn prestige items.

Happiness and comparing with community/neighbors shifted to comparing to comparing to wealthiest (more visible in media, no surprise). Upshifting in desire and dependence on wealth accelerates as people earned more; saving decreased at same time (!). Americans treat $ as taboo despite drive for it. Competitive spending has eaten away from public purse/goods/taxes/services.

Post mortems are critical. Use structure scheduling to support reflection. Consolidate lessons, share them. Carry lessons into next projects. Experiments can cross train and expand skill sets, reveal possible failures. Use limits to discipline priorities. Do research trips. Dev teams ability to see unseen with group Crit.

Perception of events is always biased and narrow. Keep in mind that hierarchy/leadership titles often discourage others from being completely forthcoming.
Know to always look for the unknown factors and hidden information to minimize twists of fate, brewing trouble, etc. Be humble b/c luck and unknown perspectives are influential.

Function melts form—stylistic changes usually have an obscured functional adjustment.
New occupants define spaces with activities that create different wear and tear, modify utilities/services, the construction itself. They be foreseen by the designer, but knowing it will be adapted can encourage good decisions, and keep a planner focused on activity (and adaptation) rather than style or appearances.
