smh Shireen can be pretty selfish, and Niemh is so hotheaded at times. I do love all the baking and how cute the girls are together when they're not being frustrating

Meandering plot, Ashley's friends just go along with whatever self-centered plan she has, even encourages her, and there's not much of a lesson happening here despite all the Jesus preaching

So at least two of Kari's friends are some kind of non-white characters, but all the kids besides the main family are interchangeable. I was actually surprised when the girls snotted at each other, but of course it was all cleared up in less than a page, with a lot of talk about God and Family and Being Kind.
There is no weight. There is no real conflict w/this family, and God Solves All Problems

the moral/theme is just too obvious, with all of the friends even telling Kari and Ashley to chill out. Ashley is at least quirky in her personality, but the rest are pretty bland. No to little figurative language and the dialogue i think is kids trying to act how adults do. idk if any of the friends are diverse

Reading this for school, but honestly I feel like I could read the back blurb and get the same experience. A bright reimagining of the 70s? where children love and respect all adults and get bountiful awards for it, and none of them have very distinct personalities as of yet

IDK why I am just so not interested in this, the descriptions don't feel very relevant

This narrator's voice is NOT for me omg she sounds like she's losing her voice. The last word of every single sentence is cracked

I love all the little things in the art. The gang hanging out together, training together, sharing treats, petting Percy and cute stuff. Not sure to trust Kate, but she hasn't been shown to really be working against them in any way. Love how shock and embarrassment are shown very minimalist on the background characters lol

Not sure why it took so long for their plan to come together lol eventually it had to lead here surely! But I do love the characters and the art still sooo much! Scottie and her fluffy cat are awesome

I like the concentration on libraries. and food. My favorite things! But i do wish the writing was a bit funnier, she's kind of regular quirky rn

Okay so far, not much of a romance as more this woman going through adult summer camp

well glad to see Ben's having a bit more personality. I like that this has romance in it, but definitely isn't romance focused. The chapter breaks are a bit random though, I hate when there's a chapter break but it just picks up immediately
