Aw, but I liked Hunter! Saw that one coming but still.

Hunter's got a mouth growing in his armpit! I'm both bummed and happy. Bummed because Hunter is one of the characters I bother to remember and happy because these books are so fucked up and it's a breath of fresh air after Mockingjay.

Oh wow, this book just does not end. It just goes on and on and on until I'm like, "Wait, am I really this far into the book? Nothing even remotely exciting as happened!" It's like there's a tiny little smudge of plot advancement every 30 or so pages.

In manga, painting the same picture means you're soulmates destined to be forever. In real life, it would lead to an hour long, "Okay, who plagiarized who, assholes?" conversation.

Taking a much needed break from YA novels. I missed old school yaoi novels with their DRAMATIC PANELS and really....meaningful use of...ellipses.

I hope I really like the next book I read. Between Fifty Shades of Grey and the bullshit, I need something to remind me why I like books so much.

I'm gonna throw this book so hard when I'm done.

The only character I can stand by this point is Finnick and his entire personality and development can be summed up with, "hot guy with a crazy girlfriend."

So, in the past two books I've had a lot of sympathy for Haymitch because while Katniss wants us to believe he's selfish and terrible, all I can see is a man who was forced to murder others, is suffering from serious PTSD and uses alcohol to self medicate. Props to Collins for killing that sympathy with Haymitch THREATENING KATNISS WITH SURGICALLY INSERTING HER EARPIECE IF SHE TAKES IT OFF AGAIN. What the hell?

Yep, it's official. I hate Katniss as a character and everytime she complains about District 13 I just want to reach through the book and smack her. "WAAAH THIS PLACE RESCUED MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS AND GAVE US SHELTER AND FOOD AND CLOTHES AND PROTECTION BUT THEY EXPECT ME TO FOLLOW A SCHEDULE!" Oh boo-fucking-hoo.

Before I begin, can I just say the Mockingjay is the derpiest looking bird ever? Who designed this cover?

Let Me Tell You About My Expensive Outfit: The Novel.

Oh man, this is written in that "obviously trying to sound cool but reads as horribly dated" kind of way. And I'm creeped out by the unexpected "vampire twin incest" vibes. There should be a warning if your book includes a sentences about knowing you brother has noticed your hot, lacy bra.

So, uh, why is Queen Levana so evil? I mean, there has to be a reason. Nothing loses me as fast as evil character's who just DOING FOR THE EVULLLZ. Develop your villains, writers! This is like Creative Writing 101.

Okay, this book is growing on me just a little but I'm still mostly apathetic.

Got approved for an ARC of this one. So far, I really like! Off to a really great start.

Okay, so maybe I just don't "get" popular YA novels because I'm a bitter, jaded cynic but I'm finding this one to be pretty "ehhhh" so far. Not bad, but certainly not what I was expecting from all the glowing reviews of my friends.

I still find the writing style of these books to be very telling instead of showing, but they're starting to win me over enough that I'm willing to overlook it. It's refreshing to read a dystopian novel that's realistic.

DOES THIS BOOK NEVER END?
I feel like "inner goddess" is becoming a trigger phrase with me. Every time I hear it, I feel a bit like Bruce banner, right before he turns green.
This book does give me hope though. Maybe someday the world will fart out a million dollars a week for my shitty fanfiction too.

This is quite possibly the least sexy erotica I've ever read.

I...don't know if I can finish this one. I have read a lot of terrible books, but I think I just literally felt my spirit breaking. Can I petition for E.L James to pay for my therapy?
