This narrative is ALL over the place, and I'm skimming a lot of sections that seem to get too off track. However, it's also prioritized the Humboldt biography that I've had on my tbr for a while now, which is, in a way, the whole point of this book!

Trinculo is the most awesome name for a jester.
I am just not cut out for interpreting this kind of prose. Fortunately, reading the LitCharts summary for each act is quite helpful, and I'm making a point to go back and reread sections that I "missed." Also, I don't know how I missed the "strange fish" imagery, that's properly Boschian right there...

Why is it that the most important and/or over-analyzed lines are always placed riiiiiight at the point where my eyes start to glaze over and skim? I am enjoying this so far though, despite the annoying tropes. Although I have a feeling, if it wasn't for Forbidden Planet, I would have been 100% lost at this point.

Feminists who think that women can only be free if they're unveiled are defeating the point of feminism (the way I see it at least)... Rather than encouraging them to be free to choose whenever and however they veil, if at all, & fighting for eliminating regulations saying that women cannot or must wear a veil, they're trying to force Western stereotypes on them, as if feminists can only be those with Western ideals.
