I drag my hands up and down his back in a soothing rhythm. He makes a grateful sigh against me.

“That’s alright. What can I do?”

“This is good,” he says with another squeeze. “Just wanna listen to you breathe for a second.”

“I take the seat next to Beckett and he pulls me closer with his foot between the bottom rungs of the stool, handing me a paper menu.”

What is happening?

Don’t tell me this is the plot device for the conflict of the book. 🧍‍♀️

FACTS. 💯

We had a break from the spice for a while, so we’re getting back into it.

But honestly, this part could’ve been done better. It felt like us came out of nowhere and I would prefer for there to be an emotional buildup (such as more inner monologue from the characters) before we get back to the physical stuff.

“I only want you, Anastasia. Nothing you can buy me is better than the past four weeks with you. Give me more of that, and I’ll be happy.”

I really am this easy. 🧍‍♀️
