not reading!! crocheting!

skimming. this is not his best book. I don't even think it's one of his good books. tooooo lonnnnng

This writing is amazing. She is shifting through various view points and I never get lost. The prose is sneaky; it seems so simple but it is powerful, the sum greater than the parts. This story has made me cry twice. I hope this holds up to the end.

I don't like the switching back and forth from present to past-not getting either story. It's frustrating. Potentially a good story- the 2 plot lines are not meshing to make a coherent whole that I want to pursue. I may put this one down or just read the parts separately. I've ending up doing that w/ other books like this. How did authors tell stories like this 25 yrs ago before multiple POV/time lines became popular

this is a pleasure so far. Interesting structure. Very short chapters, just a page or two.

ho hum. I this one is almost the same as the last one. I am also getting tired of flash back, present day. Is that what is in vogue? Two time lines?

very good so far. A leap ahead of the last few novels she wrote. A totally different setting with all the old characters getting a chance to show another side of themselves plus some marginal characters moving in the front. It is the usual dense psychological story and a fast paced plot. I hope it continues like this.

amazing. just amazing. How does she do this? it's one of the better books I've read in the last few months. All that characterization, no missteps. A plot like a whirl pool, just keeps pulling me in. I hope it lasts to the end. Won the Booker prize.

well, I don't know. There is something uneven about this. The voice of the narrator keeps changing. I can't put my finger on what is bothering me here.
Do Americans say 'fortnight'? Even in 1944??

this is not a book, it's corkscrew. I thought I got what was going on, but I"ve been wrong twice, now and their are more surprises ahead. Good plot, yet sometimes pedestrian writing. I've skimmed a little.

the last three books were books I've read are some titles that I'd looked forward to reading for a long time. I also went to some trouble to track them down. None of them were quite as good as I thought they would be. I hope that this latest, Dominion, will live up to the reviews!
