This last chapter was surprising! It tackled themes of racism head-on, something that's barely implied in the movie and very real in that time. I'm happy they did this!

i can't help but feel like everyone in this book is fake except for Tiana herself and Facilier, and it's quite disturbing because it feels like she's alone even when she's surrounded by people. I'm not sure yet if this is intentional but I guess I'll figure that out soon.

Sometimes you just hate life for not allowing you more time to read ‘cause, forgive me, but who tf was just “standing in the doorway?” Are we seeing things now? What’s happening? :):):)

Every time I open this book I find myself fangirling lol so many familiar characters, it’s nostalgic.

I finally got through the first chapter. I’ve been trying to read it for, like, three days. But it’s not because I’m not enjoying it, I just really wanted to READ it, focus on it and let it soak in without distractions.
I can’t stop seeing easter eggs and references. This lady has such a powerful way with words. I can’t stop reading. Send help.

i really need this to stop dragging

I'm having such a hard little time with this book and I'm not even sure why. Maybe i just haven't figured out where the book is going yet...?

First time LISTENING to a sex scene in a book. Definitely not for me lol but I guess I’m almost done, what the hell.😂🤷🏽‍♂️

I’m listening to the Dramatized Adaptation on Chirp because it was only $1.99 and I’m quite enjoying it. We def have the typical love triangle, the writing feels a lot like a young adult book (maybe it is? I didn’t do my usual research), and the language is a little bit too modern, which I think clashes a bit with the dragon aesthetic, but welp, still here for the ride!

This book takes me back to the time when I read Marie Lu’s Legend, plus the dragons and the powers. I haven’t yet figured out what’s so special about these books, but it’s quite an easy read—or “listen”, in my case—so I’m going with the flow.
