The book trailer on YouTube (the 2:11 version) has me excited about this book as a readaloud for my fourth grade class this year.

This book is one of the California young reader award medal nominees for 2014, which is the reason that I'm reading aloud to my fourth grade class. So far, it hasn't measured up to the stature past nominees: it's difficult to read aloud, with too many characters and too many voices, as well as an unclear setting (depression era Key West Florida).

Just finished the Kurt Busiek "Untold Tales of Spiderman" story at the back of this book; couldn't resist when I saw those beautiful, bright colors from the 90s! It was a fun story, simple, but full of that Spiderman banter I enjoy so much.
