After a chapter on the muskox, now a chapter for the magnificent polar bear.

"You have told me heaven is very beautiful. Now tell me one more thing. Is it more beautiful than the country of the muskox in the summer, when the mist blows over the lakes, and the water is blue, and the loons cry very often? That is beautiful. If heaven is still more beautiful, I will be glad. I will be content to rest there until I am very old."

We are so blessed to have had Barry Lopez. What an adventurer. What a writer!

His insights continue to be very helpful, very thorough.

I’m skipping days here and there, and just reading today’s devotion when I get around to it. Chambers is passionate and sometimes a bit peculiar. He can be wonderfully convicting and inspiring, but other times he can unhelpfully mystify.
