So far this book is very interesting. Many themes and social issues had come to my mind while I was reading this book already. This book revolves around many issues and characters, but most of the characters face the same problem which is identity and relationships. However they all play soccer on this team that is made of refugees from various countries, and their coach is very motivative and makes everyone improve.

I got this book from the author himself. I'm eager to read it. According to Matt de la Pena, the book is very emotional. I asked him for a historical fiction, but he gave me this instead, so I hope the book will be good. :D

So far this book getting more and more intense. A new character is introduced, his name is Chian. In my opinion, this new character is very interesting, he oversees all the trials in Los Angeles. However, Metias didn't really like him. June also finds out that Chian has a huge scar on his face because of Day. I feel like Chian is going to be a bad character.

I'm very hooked into this book right now. The book is so intense, I love the description that the author puts into the book. I wonder what will happen next. I hope there is more action in the upcoming chapters because I love the action the author puts in the book right now.

Overall, There were a lot of description in this book, which is what I liked. However, the plot of the story was not that interesting, therefore I didn't really like the book. I think the main theme of the book would be fear because Crispin is afraid all the time, he has been abandoned and left alone after the death of his mom and Father Quinel. That is the main reason why I think the main theme of the book is fear.

Overall, this book was a short and fun book.I liked how the author made the book serious but he also added elements of humor into the book. He showed the personality of the characters very well.At the end of the book, I understood each character very well. I think the overall mood of this book is exciting because there were scenes that were really intense and exciting. I like this book but there are some bad aspects.

After reading more of this book, I can start to connect to the quote of 'Entertainment Weekly.' They described it as "Smart, Sharp, Fast - Paced." I can connect to the word "Fast - Paced" because I would say this book moves on really fast. Although there is a lot of action happening in one scene, the book moves on very fast. Which is something that I love because I don't like slow moving books. Those are very boring.

So far, this book is very interesting. I like how there are two perspectives in this book. At first, I was a little bit confused why he is mentioning two characters at once but now, the characters are starting to be more related to each other. The action is rising pretty slowly. However,I do like how the other puts a lot of description into the actions of the characters, and it is making a very clear image in my head.

Rafe finally got expelled from his school. I was not that surprised because he had created so much trouble during the school year. However, Ms.Donatello (Rafe's Teacher) is offering a new school for Rafe. It is named "Airbrook". Airbrook is an art school, and Ms.Donatello thinks that Rafe has a special talent in art. I also thought Rafe had a special talent in art because every drawing of his was so creative.

Rafe and Georgia (His sister) are both very happy, that Carl their "Ex -Stepdad" had finally moved out. I'm also very happy for them because Carl is not such a good dad. Another surprising thing that happened, is that Jeanne (The person that Rafe has a crush on) is in trouble. This is very surprising because Jeanne is known to be the perfect student, and she had never ever gotten in trouble before!!!!!!!! Surprising.

I can't believe Rafe is now trying to break more rules again! He should've stayed is normal self permanently. Rafe thought he made the smartest move ever! He outsmarted the bully ( although bullies are pretty dumb). Rafe was really happy about that. I was actually kind of surprised when he outsmarted the bully, because Rafe is not really know for being a smart person. I am really curious to see what will happen next.

So far, I really like how the author puts a lot of action in to the scenes in the book. Rafe had gotten in his first detention because of his rule-breaking game. This author likes to use illustrations to describe what is happening in that scene. Personally, I really like the idea, but sometimes the author uses it unnecessarily, which I don't like. I think in the next chapter, Rafe will get into more, and more trouble.

So far, I really like this book. Rafe is making a game, where he tries to break all the rules in school. I like how the author uses illustrations to describe the scene and the feelings of the characters. This makes things very clear and straightforward. Rafe’s friend Leo, is also helping Rafe to break the rules. Rafe had already gotten in trouble once, but he decides to keep breaking more, and more rules!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Overall, there were alot of ups and downs in this book. However I think the book mainly talks about friendship. Every chapter, they talk about friendship. I think the author did a great job, on making me visualize the characters in the book. I would recommend this book to everyone who likes first person perspective book.

Wow! I did not think that Charlotte would kinda fit in with Ximena Chin. I liked how the author used flashback, to show how Charlotte was so nice to her. The author is doing a great job of showing how sassy Ximena Chin is. I really like the plot and the characters of this book.

Right now I'm currently on the chapter about Charlotte. I really like how the author has different chapters about each character.Personally I really like that the author would always use the 1st person perspective. Charlotte made the dance team, and she took Savanna's spot. That made Savanna really mad. She was doing all sorts of bad things to Charlotte. The author did a great job at showing the character's emotions.

I really like how the author shows how the boy thinks differently from other people. However I don't really like the fact that the author used swear words. Although the swear words helped express the characters feelings, it wasn't necessary to add swear words in the book. The author's style of numbering chapters was very unique. Each chapter number was a prime number, which is because Christopher liked prime numbers.

Chris finally improves his forgetfulness, after his mom had gone through a car accident while rushing to get his things. I guess that's sort of like a wake up call then. His mom and his dad are temporarily living together, because his mom needs some help, because she can't really walk properly. I can't believe they are actually living together. Well, temporarily at least.

Chris's mom drives Chris to school on a rainy day, as Chris reaches the school, he then forgets his trombone, science paper, and gym Shorts.I couldn't believe Chris forgets his stuff again! His mom gets real mad at him, because she told him to pack his school equipments at night! The book also told us that Chris's mom and Chris's dad lives in different houses, which made me assume that they were divorced. That's sad.
