How can Molly resent Fitz going to see critically ill family? I've honestly never liked her in these books...

Beginning is slow...

I dislike Fitz on a regular basis -- I can't emphasize that enough. He's so pathetic, whiny, angry, self-indulgent, and reluctant to do sensible things. And yet I can't stop reading.

This is going to be slow going -- my copies of this trilogy are all in hardback, which is so uncomfortable to read now that I'm used to my Kindle.

The story is jumping around among too many characters...

I've decided I'm glad to be listening to the audiobook. There are too many sentence fragments used for stylistic effect and it would drive me nuts in print.

Something worthwhile finally happens, plot-wise.

I'm finding this book bland so far... I'm considering stopping, but maybe it gets better.

I'm really enjoying Owen. The narrator's rendition reminds me of my Irish uncle.

David's awkward sense of humor makes me cringe every time; I don't like feeling this constant pity for a character's social ineptitude.

I'm not at all convinced that a social structure like this is sustainable. (I'm not buying it.)
