This is so hilarious!! I'm laughing my head off, and I'm only 19 pages in. Poor 14 year old Peter is on his way to become a midshipman, and only hours after leaving home, he falls in with bad company, gets drunk, meets his captain, and is involved in a duel with another midshipman. haha! He is such an idiot!

I came into this not quite sure what to expect, but I am loving it so far! I'm giggling at the clever dialogue, and I already love Kitty, the intrepid pilot. Move over Nancy Drew! I might just have a new favorite. I hope the rest of the book lives up to my climbing expectations.

Oh, the DRAMA! It's all getting crazy up in the Victorian society down here!

Oh my goodness! I am LOVING this book!!! Ah, Dickens, you charmer, you story-telling charmer. I'm under the spell of this wild and wonderful book!

Things are starting to come together! Characters, whose stories have been separate, are now meeting and breaking bread and plotting together.
