While the story is interesting, and the characters are pretty well developed (though maybe a little cliche'd), the writing sounds like a debut novel.

The Twelve Dancing Princesses: Pretty typical retelling of this fairy tale.

The Hunt and the Hind: This story didn't work for me. Just didn't care about any of the characters.

The Princess and the Frog: A short retelling of The Princess and the Frog about a quick thinking princess, the frog and his evil younger brother.

The Stolen Princess: I love Robin McKinley's writing style. It's so lush. This is the story of a princess whose aunt was stolen was by the fairies and she gets stolen herself. Quite good.

The narrative structure of this story really jumps around a lot. I'm also learning a lot of random stuff about side characters that I don't really care about.

I don't think any Gail Carson Levine book I read will ever compare to Ella Enchanted.
