Ugh 😑 Racist stories always irk me. The “Flower Garden” made me want to slap 👋🏽 these women and say “what makes you feel so superior over black people?” No one is “better” than anyone else we’re just filled with differences. Humanity comes in a wide variety of shapes, sizes, colors, personalities, cultures, strengths (etc.) like a beautiful tapestry. But no one is more superior than another!

Sookie’s choice in a love interest makes sense as a normal thing to do and as a writer.🤔 I don’t get why so many fans got upset over this.🤷🏽‍♀️ Starting relationships as friends before becoming romantic happens all the time.💁🏽‍♀️

Okay, so I’ve now come to realize that this is “filler” book in the series. Maybe this should have been added as #7.5 in the series rather than #8 since nothing much seems to happen. This just reminds me why I have taken such a long break between reading these.
