Second times a charm. I had a hard time getting through this book the first time around when I was taking African-American History in college because it triggered so many emotions. I don’t think there was a day I did not cry at least once in class when I learned about the atrocities so many Black people endured, including some of my living family and ancestors. Now, I find it enlightening and full of information.
