This contains astoundingly useful though patterns around careers. But i think it’s better suited to a living web guide rather than a book, since the contents should change as more evidence is gathered.

I love all of these interludes where Cadence writes fairytales eluding to her feelings.

Interesting as the family gets slowly exposed for how horrible it is.

This feels somewhat more real than 'Perks of being a Wallflower'

Really captivating setting, tragedy that hit me hard.

I've shot through lots of this whilst moving! Great to see how a successful business can be formed through the eyes of an introvert 😁

I like how consistent the characters are with the way they act. Like you can always expect Jane to try and make an optimistic rationalisation out of any situation, maybe that’s how Austen imagined she’d cope with adversary.

Taking me a long time to get through this

It's easy to see the parallels between this and Bridget Jones (besides the obvious naming of Mark Darcy after Mr Darcy).

At the end the feels more like a loose connection of notes.

Left very disappointed by the 'sexual games' section. This part of the book is where things feel the most dated. Mostly due to the visitation of the roles of women and homosexualy in an early 1960s viewpoint.

Despite being described very very dryly and often in sexist ways, some of these examples are really hitting close to home.

Then again, despite being boring, I'm really starting to see these kinds of behaviour patterns in real people.

I feel like this book is important but zzzzz is it boring. A collection of first world problems.

I'll need to go back sometime and memorise all of these definitions.

Genius is a thing, not a person.

It's interesting how the author revisits eugenics again and again as an example of where quantitative reasoning can be bad.

The author uses lots of sports analogies I guess to help aid the layperson. But personally they make me fall asleep 😴

Well that was an incredibly long-winded discussion of the lottery.

Managed to touch on probability, chaos theory, utility theory, perspective geometry and information theory 😂

This is soo dense. The authors skip stages often because of the application of some process defined before. But it's so hard to reapply these processes when there's usually only one example of the process.

Finally made it to the second chapter. Missed the quirky footnotes from the University of California students.

Probability can be seen as a degree of belief that something is true. Numerically flavoured advice.

"The purpose of statistics isn't to tell us what to believe, but to tell us what to do. Statistics is about making decisions, not answering questions."

Big fan of this thinking.
