Fascinating interpretation of Numbers 19 by Saint Methodius!

Something about the writing seems off, but primarily in the scenes with the Doctor.

Helmold von Bosau asked people to pray for him.

Bishop Gerold, according to Helmold von Bosau, showed "spiritual freedom" in the face of death.

I think Peter Sarris' may have misdated the destruction of the Temple of Isis, although I'm not sure. However, that was just his opener. He convincingly shows that the legislation and economy of the Byzantine Empire shows all the signs of depopulation. He also effectively pleads that we should be more trusting of our primary sources.

The roads of the empire served social, administrative and of course military purposes, but not so much economic ones, as the transport of goods was done primarily by water.

Also, Trajan was the first emperor to style himself "Father of the Country".

"He prayed: Almighty God, if it aint too far out of the way of things in your eternal plan do you reckon we could have a little rain down here.

Pray it up, some called, and kneeling he cried out among the thunder and the wind: Lord we are dried to jerky down here. Just a few drops for some old boys out here on the prairie and a long ways from home."

Really good information on literature during Trajans era. Dio Chrysostomos, Tacitus and Plutarch all published in his reign, and I think Bennett may be right in calling it a rennaissance.

This book is incredibly dense. Still better than the one about Galerius in the same series, however. I like it, however much of a slog it is to read.

Domitian increased the fine metal content of coins, while Trajan inflated it.
