The donatist positions of Luther, Wycliffe, Hus and other Reformers do not abolish the Magisterium or bring freedom of conscience to frutition (and Luther attacked this concept often enough), they merely shift the prerogatives of the Church to the secular authorities.

Politically dangerous, as were Wycliffe and Luther.

Seems like the 11th century was a particularly bad one for the Church.

I admire her honesty, and I could relate surprisingly well to a few things she said. Like it did to her, partaking of the eucharist usually gives me peace even when I feel almost dead spiritually.

The last story had the same twist as at least two others, I think: Some natural feature of the environment was actually a Kaiju. Plus, a portrayal of poor people I didn't like. Sounded more like a wealthy person trying to think himself in the shoes of a poor person.

Funny how both Jesuits and Franciscans in this story blame each other for provoking persecutions. Their allegations both sound plausible.

The sepulchre and the virgin birth are related. Also, Samon killing the lion is seen as a metaphor for Christ killing death, and bringing forth life (the honey being a symbol for that). Ephrem draws connections I never even contemplated.

I think his views on the salvation through the crucifixion conforms quite well with Saint Anselms. There were one or two sentences on Marys virginity I found somewhat troublesome, but nothing severe.
