I wasn't sure about this in the beginning, but once Mel arrived in Morgan's Gap I fell in love with all the wise and wild women of the mountain. This book is making my fingers twitch to knead bread, brew remedies, weave baskets, and cultivate an even deeper relationship with the woods around me.

The author has such a knack for blending science with poetry, using vivid and sensual descriptions of the natural world to evoke deep emotions and a sense of relatedness to all. I am loving this book! (Listening to the audiobook read by the author is also great as he acts out his narrative with sound effects and passionate enunciation.)

I'm loving the Book of Water. So powerful and inspiring!

I'm so enjoying listening to Natalie read her book and comment on it (14 years after it was originally published). Her warmth, passion, and honesty is so inspiring! I'm one third in, and already know I need a paper copy of this to keep beside me and turn to for ideas and wisdom about writing.

Listening to this on audiobook and loving the vivid descriptions of nature!
