More Elide and Lorcan, please.

I hate that I have to suffer through Aelin and her bullshit just to get to characters I actually enjoy. Never have I met a protagonist that is awful. I think we’re supposed to like her and admire her, but I hate her. I hate reading about her. I don’t care about her at all. The supporting cast is the strength of these books.

Ugh....what is it about Aelin and Rowan that bothers me so much? Like I've read SJM before, I'm familiar with her particular brand of fairy porn (Chapter 55, y'all) but these two just don't do it for me. They're both so disgustingly perfect, and she goes to such lengths to beat you over the head with that fact that I find myself just not caring at all.

Oh, I just realized that the novellas weren’t written too long after this, and those were a massive improvement. ACOTAR was great fun, so I’m sure the writing and the story will get better.

It’s funny....I don’t remember being overly impressed with this book the first time I read it and I’m not impressed now. The writing is clumsy and the plot is thin. SJM has obviously made great strides over the years, so I don’t doubt that this series will improve in later books.

So I’m finally reading the titular story, which just do happens to also be my favorite episode of the Netflix series. It was an excellent adaptation of what is already an entertaining read.

So is the solution to this prophecy/riddle really that obvious?

Urgh, Cardan, why must you confuse us so?!

And even if she got one pulled over on her, Jude is still awesome. I get her. My 16-year-old self gets her.

I’ve no idea what to make of Cardan.

Enjoying the different POVs, but this is otherwise painfully dull.

And I feel bad for feeling bad for Tamlin. And I kind of get the impression that SJM is almost implying that we should never feel sympathy for him. But I do. I know he’s a douche, but really.....it’s hard to hate when someone is as pathetic as he’s become.
