This is the second book in the Arcana Chronicles and the card known as death has come into play more so then in the first book. After Evie had killed the Alchemist card Jack had wanted nothing to do with her or so she thought eventually Jack told her how he felt and that he didn't care about her being the red witch and that he would protect her from Death but that doesn't work as Death has captured Evie.

right now Evie is travelling with Jackson trying to get out of Louisiana and to get to he grandmothers house to understand what all these visions mean. Evie also hears voices but when she is with Jackson the voices seem to subside so she is starting to crave Jackson's company but she is having a hard time trying to understand him with his changing moods he can go from flirty to angry in a matter of seconds

so far in this book the main person Evie has just come back from the CLC (children's learning center) after her mother sent her there because of the nightmares she was having about the world coming to an end. Now that she has gone back to school there are some new students that are from the basin as they call it they all have a criminal record but as the end comes Evie asks Jack one of the guys to protect.

so far in this book the main character jess is starting to see people that have dies or are going to die one is Evan he died at the school that she is at and the second is that of a little boy who has just showed himself to her for help because he is drowning but Jess has no idea what is going on so she doesn't know how to help them.

Right now Zoey and her friends have returned to going to school at the house of night but they are feeling not welcomed because of the raven mocker they have with them that is stevie rea's boyfriend and now nefret has allowed another group of red fledglings to come join the school and they are causing all sorts of problems with the raven mocker. Aurox Neferet's weapon is starting to feel things and Zoey plays a part

right now Zoey and the group are trying to figure out how to stop Kalona and neferet from destroying anything else. Zoey has just meet a guy named aurox Neferet's weapon she has discovered that his has a very old dark magic around him that could be very deadly especially when it is in Neferet's hands

Now that there has been an evil let lose in the world zoey and her friends are getting ready to have the final face of with kalona the one who controls what are called the raven mockers

in the 4th book of the marked series Zoey is trying to stop a impending war between vamps and humans by teaming up with an enemy she never thought she would be friends with. she was able to save stevie raeat the cost of aphrodite's mark being taken from her to save stevie rae

in the begging of the book Michael is trying to fit into society all the while dealing with his grandparents that do not like him and his mother who is in and out of the hospital all the time. He is also trying to fit in at school but the other kids do not like him because he is gay so they think he should be ridiculed for being gay.

Coming towards the end of the book they have just started to do a ceremony for one of the professors that had just been killed all the while Zoey is trying to keep what she knows about stevie rae to hersef because she knows if she tells any of her friends the Nefret will be able to read there mind and find out that they know srevie rae is not dead. In the process Zoey has 3 boyfriends but the one she had imprinted on

Right now in the book Zoey is trying to figure out how to help her friend stevie rae turn back to her normal self but in trying t do this she has to go against her mentor Nefret because she is the one who is causing all these young fledglings to be turned into the typical stereotype vampire. Zoey is also making an unexpected friend with Aphrodite the one who in the first book was the leader of the dark daughters

Now that Zoey is at the house of night school everyone is fascinated by her mark for only being a new vampire her mark is filled in when the other new vampires are just outlines. Zoey is trying to to find where she fits in and while doing that she meets a boy named Erik and a girl who thinks she owns the school who doesn't like Zoey looking at Erik at all, Zoey is now in the process of joining the dark daughters.

in the first chapter Zoey has been marked by a tracker vampire and has to go live in the house of night a school for the vampires she has to train to become an adult vampire but first she has to over come the change that could kill her

shuyler was able to find her grandfather but he was no help in answering her questions on the silver bloods so she has headed back home for the 400th ball. When she gets home she found her mothers old dress that she was presented in when she was 16 at the ball so everyone at the ball thinks it is her mother that has woken up from her coma instead of it being her daughter schuyler.

so far in the book it is going back and forth between schuyler, mimi, and bliss. with Schuyler she is trying to find her grandfather while the other two are preparing for an after party from the 400th ball. in the book each one of them is a blue blood vampire and they are in a war with the silver bloods. the silver bloods are killing the blue bloods and drinking there blood for more power.
