The less you are, the less you express your own life, the more you have, i.e., the greater is your alienated life, the greater is the store of your estranged being.

This book started off with a banger quote.

The less you eat, drink and buy books; the less you go to the theatre, the dance hall, the public house; the less you think, love, theorize, sing, paint, fence, etc., the more you save-the greater becomes your treasure which neither moths nor rust will devour-your capital.

So far- this book feels like "capitalism isn't bad- trust me bro"- energy. I'm not feeling it but since it's short, I'll get through the whole book.

This book picked up a little bit and I'm enjoying it more. I think my primary gripe is the audiobook narrator.

Got through part 1. Enjoying listening to this. It's a totally different perspective from career/ upbringing yet we have very similar world views. Very informative so far.

Library finally had this in stock. It’s really good. I’m back on my audiobook shit while I work while we quickly descend into totalitarianism. Hoping to listen to as many as I can before libraries are completely defunded…

I'm not really into this book. My therapist wanted me to read it but it's too "faith based" for me to really like it. I'm feeling like an outsider listening. It's like... everything is centered around the bibles' teaching-- like there aren't lessons to be learned or moral equivalents outside the bible? Feels regressive.

Started this- even though I'm reading a lot of other books cause the audiobook is only 5 hours long. Should be a quick read.
