It’s going good so far. It’s not too different than a normal Reacher story. However, he’s speaking way too often and for too long. There’s a reason the famous quote from these books is, “Reacher said nothing.”

Yes, Child’s brother is an author as well—but nowhere near as talented or prodigious. It feels a bit like Jesus handing over the responsibility as the messiah to his brother Craig and expecting his flock to “just go with it”.

Ever since Lee announced his retirement I’ve been looking forward to this book with trepidation. It seldom works when an author of a beloved series dies or retires and hands the reins over to someone else. Reacher has been my second favorite series for almost a decade now and I fear that my interest in it may die with this installment.
