I am still super confused.

So…he is a roach?

I am honestly so confused. He’s not actually a roach is he?

Super duper confused about the roach and why he’s not freaking out about the fact that he woke up as a roach. He’s also a bum and a sissy who can’t own up to his mistakes.

I. Can’t. Stand. Yozo.

He gets more repulsive with each page. Yozo doesn’t have any goals for himself because he is too lazy to think of any and on top of that, he abuses anyone that comes his way whether it be someone who wants to help him or someone who needs help themselves. I am concerned that he will be using Shizuko since she has a child of her own to take care of. I think she just feels sorry for him but he’s a burden to her.

It’s gone downhill. This guy gets worse and worse with the flip of each page. His perception of love is undoubtedly skewed and he is not willing to be honest with anyone, not even himself. He continuously digs himself into deeper holes which he is unable to get out of. He’s a nuisance to his family and anyone his family associates with. This guy is just so selfish and disgraceful at every turn.

He is quite literally the worst person. His lies has gone so far as to hurt him. He doesn’t actually care about anyone but continues to try his hardest to please them due to the fear of rejection or disapproval. This has been hugely misdirected because he wants random people in his life to approve of him but when it came to his family he quite literally stopped caring since he doesn’t see them anymore.

So far the main character, Yozo, seems to lack the basic understanding of human emotions. He sees disapproval as anger and in return feels fear which isn’t necessarily always the case. This lack of understanding I believe stems from him coming from a more traditional Japanese household. His family members didn’t really talk about their feelings and therefore he couldn’t learn through example.
