The foreshadowing in Iron Flame has improved over the amateur attempts at subtlety exhibited in Fourth Wing regarding such. However, I still was able to predict the big shocker of chapter 25. Let’s hope the third installment of this series finally masters the art of sprinkling tidbits of information in without dousing the novel in clues to a big reveal…

Otherwise, Iron Flame is highly entertaining.

The plot is great thus far in, despite some repetitive sequences overall. A few things irritate me throughout this read: (1) the amount of times Violet must clarify she’s “not lying” is enough to beat a horse and it’s entire family tree dead, (2) Violet’s hypocritical stance regarding her demands from Xaden considering her treatment of Rhi, (3) the King’s son is somehow unrecognizable to everyone?!?
