I'm annoyed by the little parentheses. I appreciate the explanations, especially when it's a translation of a German term, but they interfere with the narrative.

I'm really liking this book so far. I'm going to go ahead and guess that William Hyde is actually Dart and not Tamar, and that he named his granddaughter after his fallen war buddy.

The writing... It's pretty bad. Here's hoping the story will get better to make this book bearable.

Ugh, those chapters between leaving the Shire and arriving at the Prancing Pony were dreadful and totally unnecessary. No wonder the producers cut them from the movie.

Is this a children's book? Because if sure feels like a children's book. Are all Barron books for kids? Or was I just a kid when I read his Merlin and Tree of Avalon books?

I'm not gonna lie, I'm starting to get annoyed at this book. She's narrating events that she's narrated before, and in the center is Margaret the absolute coward.
