The prologue being read by Bob Iver gives the listener a different feel from the rest of the book. I understand why this is done but would have enjoyed listening to him as well. Out of the first 2 chapters, I think the events surrounding Calgary 88 is better and kept me more engaged.

It's a bit slow but still interesting. I wasn't sure why the Sheriff was so obsessed with election numbers until it's mentioned that it's an election year in Ford County. Social pressure is going to be applied from all sides again to Ozzie and Jake.

It just keeps getting better as the story rides. I want to scream at Olive not because Brian is awful or Wyatt is confused but because I know she is about to tear apart the lives of several peope in hopes of find what is left in wake of her lost life.

The moving back and forth between timelines makes the story really interesting. It makes me wonder exactly where she's going with it. If she's trying to play with the idea from the story from the metaphysics from the idea of two different universes I don't know but I'm really interested in where it's going

Miss some the characters from The Dry and Forces of Nature but the ideas and edginess of a small town looking straight at the depths of obsolescence is still the brutal truth in Jane Harper's writing

The middle chapters about the Jewish heritage of the game and the response of Hooliganism to gentrification of ownership is a great read.

It's not that it's a slow read, I just find myself making so many notes and reflections as I read this book. Great blended narrative of Sen. Glass and Sen. Aldridge as they build toward creating the Fed Reserve.

On pg 40 and 41 there is a wonderful explanation of the old broken system.of chack writing in the US at the turn of the century. If you are a teacher of US history get this book and read about how had it was to move money and credit around before the Federal Reserve system was created. It'll be a big help for your classroom.

Really great read. I like the sassiness of Kiva Lagos. This should be a good ride.

David Treuer's ability to blend the story of his life and experience as part of the Leech Lake res and the greater narrative of the American Indian experience is purely beautiful writing. Take the time and read or listen to this book.

Part I is massive, almost 3hrs of listening. Now in to Part II and feel better. Interesting ways of using dates to separate and then ignoring by leaning on expert interviews to drive the narrative. Ast.Sec. Washburn should be considered a national treasure for his work within BIA.
