The last chapter takes place inside the mind of a man with dementia. A remarkable piece of writing.

This is superb.

“Because when all you have is the memory of a thing,” she said, “all you can think about is how the thing is gone.”

“And I told you to bring nine toys,” she said. “You brought eight. Next time try to pay more attention.” And the disappointment in her voice made him cry even harder, so hard that he couldn’t talk, and thus he couldn’t tell her that he put eight toys in the wagon because the ninth toy was the wagon itself.

This has an infinite jest vibe about it.

This isn't at all what I was expecting.

What a brutal opening with some great homages to the slasher genre, particularly Friday the 13th. I'm hooked already.

I'm struggling to get into this. I don't know why because its a cool idea, but it just feels, I don't know, meh.

Endgame

Whoever thought a peanut allergy could be so tense.

This is great so far. So fast paced.

The bed groaned.
"oh, yeahhhh." Him.
"The condom doesn't feel like a glove to me." Her.
"what does it feel like?"
"A telephone pole."
"Yeahhhhh."

LOL. This is the couple first time. I actually laughed out loud. Richard Laymons realistic dialogue, ladies and gentlemen.

Here lives Adela. Beware!

Thankfully, the pace has picked up considerably the last 20 percent or so. I'm actually kind of enjoying this now. Finally.

This is great.

That interview segment was amazing.

This book is so slow. Fifty percent in and literally nothing Interesting has happened yet. Here's hoping it picks up in the second half.

Enjoying this.

I might just give up on this novel. Every tiny thing is being described in vivid detail. Literally everything. Im 23 percent in and nothing has happened yet.
