Very much enjoying this. And never regretted picking up similar novels in general. I do have a feeling that the characters were slightly warped in the movie. Did not watch it but I did watch the trailer..

Look i'm not gonna lie, I pulled so many excuses for myself to read this asap, without getting a physical copy and spending money and shelf space in case it absolutely sucked -I have been warned-
So far, the storytelling is slightly intertwined but understandable. And once again, American authors fail to write anything of substance without heavily including conversations about s*x.

Our lovely protagonist for the most part so far "can scarcely keep herself from crying" in almost every difficult situation and I have never related more to a book character😂 well done mrs. gaskell

An everyday story it is. A beautiful narration of a simple victorian household's life

A great escape from my current distress and conflict, and an expected masterpiece of Austen, where complexity of character and events are likely to harmonize an agitated mind

Giving off suspense + motherless girl + racism vibes

Not that the author is racist but she is illustrating the racism in that era.

I cannot stress how important this book is

this book is for me and I know it, just not at this time. there's so much to keep up with, too much shifting of the story and the plot and the timeframe and the characters, too many losing, unnecessary mention of details here and there.. I'm just not falling for it enough
