Meet Kepler Costello and the sky-blade. Kepler is basically Han Solos personality in chebaccas body. The sky blade is definitely the millennium falcon. Much of keplars dialogue seems lifted from hans dialogue in Star Wars. The heroes join up with Orion and escape a bunch of dragons that were sent by Vincent. Tobin is now on capricious, in a futuristic city. I got no sense of place about capricious or the city.

Here come the villains. Jonathan ashmore: thug, Vincent: head bad guy lives in skyscraper, Rigel: Vincent's number one. Jonathan watches Tobias, then somehow moves across dimensions to another planet full of green skinned people. We also meet Orion, a good guy, who was spying on Vincent in his skyscraper. Much is made of him being old but also a hero.

At this point I am most interested in Tobins relationship with Bill. I think the whole 'will you stop calling them dates? It's kind of creepy and the guy practically lives here' exchange hilarious.

We meet: Tobin - basically an underachieving Peter Parker, Jennifer: his smart attractive friend, Chad: Tobin's athletic comic book reading friend, Catherine:Tobins Mom,Bill: Catherine's boyfriend. They all live in Bridgeton, a little nondescript town. Probably the kind of place Clark Kent grew up. My visual image is that of little clean cut towns in comic books.

Phaedo: Socrates discusses the opposites and forms: ideas: hot: cold composites:fire:snow basically arguing the soul is an idea form and having no opposite cannot change and is therefore immortal. Socrates drinks the poison and dies. Cebes and sippias, echecrates and crito and phaedo. Took a long time to wade through the last 20 or so pages on the forms. Thank goodness for Internet crib notes.

Phaedo: Socrates states that since no one knows what happens upon death there is no reason for fear. Trying to stay alive might deny one the happiness of death. Socrates argues for life after death. He wants to meet the wise gods, the Trojan heroes, etc. Simmias and Cebes put forth counter arguments.

Phaedo: phaedo of Elis talks with e hectares about a conversation Socrates had with Cebes and Simmias. Socrates, being so near death, spoke on the soul. 1)cyclical argument (opposites argument), 2) affinity argument, Forms Argument: basically since a philosopher is focused on mental, non physical tasks, the philosopher studies death. Philosophers, being so near death have little to fear from death.

Apology: Socrates condemned to death. Great quote to the effect, I have always feared wickedness more than death, for wickedness runs faster. I have been caught by death where my accusers are caught by wickedness.

Apology: Socrates describes how he would be long dead had he chosen a public life. When the tyrants sought to spread the guilt around he refused to participate and just went home. Socrates refuses to beg for his life, for such action would dishonor Athens and if he was successful would only prove that neither he nor the jury believed in the gods. With that he leaves the jury to its work.

Apology: Socrates replies to Miletus accusation of impiety. If Socrates believes in the spirits then how can he be an atheist? Does it make sense for Socrates to make those arou d him worse? the oracle at Delphi who claimed Socrates the wisest of men becaus Socrates doesn't claim to know what he doesn't know. Socrates concludes he will be put to death because all this uncomfortable questioning has left him unpopular.
