Perhaps her brain had become so sensitive to all those neurons exploding that she could now witness stars in the daytime, although it was hardly the day now, more the dusk, the benighted hour. And there was a star, burning itself up, drifting and gone even before it made its presence manifest to human eyes. No longer supported by whatever cared to keep it in place. . .
