Really enjoying so far! Very fast paced but that does mean that no one art movement nor no one artist gets very much attention (so far that is - I’m only to about mid or late 1800s currently, so I’m curious though if the other 400ish pages of the book focus solely on modern and contemporary lol?)

I do wish we spent more time with artists (also that every painting referred to was pictured!!)

Started with a quote by artemisia gentileschi before the book even started and that’s how I know she’s getting 5 stars before reading a word. Jk. But maybe.

It’s been a slog for me to the point I haven’t even been picking it up..I’m giving it to 100 or 150 (1/3 and 1/2 to roughly) before I DNF. Random good sentences but prose overall is not doing it for me. It meanders a lot which I think is the point limits supposed to be midwestern calm and winding like a river or whatever but not my vibe me thinks

Ok I got this at a buy one get one free sale at a local bookstore, and I loved shadow and bone and the guy who wrote this was in the tv show adaptation…I can’t tell how I feel so far but there’s some build up so I’ll keep going before I make any more remarks. It was technically free though so

It’s a little slow to start …. I think (I’m HOPING) it’s because it is a dual POV (well still 3rd person in typical Cassie fashunnn)

Also listening to the in trust podcast per my coworker’s revelatory recommendation… 😐

Just so you all know I’m expecting everyone to get their crap together to watch this film the second it drops. WE MUST SUPPORT QUEEN LILYYYYY AND TANTOO AND KING TATANKA etc etc etc… indigenous excellence me thinks??? OSDAAAAAS

Enjoying so far- really liking the endings of each chapter on how to further engage with the knowledge presented! Also appreciate the honesty of the authors

Excited to really dig into this! Mostly planning on using it as a nightcap book before bed to try and get a good routine going. Heard really good thingsssss

So far, it’s much better than the past few kindleunlimited fantasy books I’ve read lolllzzz…character and character development are slaying so far and I’m only like a tenth of the way through…onwards!

Reading again for a class! This second read is so much more fulfilling, and I’m excited to continue with it!

I’m going to vomit…the way books use prophecy and I still have the audacity to be completely shocked and betrayed when it comes true….. u guys I’m nauseous. 15% of the book left???(?????? WHAT ELSE IS GOING TO HAPPEN,,,?????

I forgot how hooked dystopian/YA novels can make u. I was like I’m going to stop after this chapter and of course that chapter is the one that has the absolute juiciest craziest twist. I still had to stop tho. But so excited to read it tomorrow😲😝😝
