So far, I particularly liked essay #6, by Sofia Samatar.

"Do not use lethal force against your bread. A fine baker's loaf should be sliced first and then bitten into. It is permissible to cut bran bread after biting into it. Warm bread should be torn...." LL. 934-37

A precursor to Tom Sawyer whitewashing the fence: "If you are burdened with some unimportant thing, praise it highly to all and treat it like an honoured possession. You will quickly be able to pass your worthless prize off." (ll. 605-607)

Helpful tips from Daniel of Beccles:
"If you are ruined by a shipwreck, do not mourn on that account, but cheer up instead, because you will be able to avoid the same disaster in future. No good comes of reminding yourself of a past danger. Tears are useless once the ship is sunk." (ll. 546-549, page 47)

Going faster since I've skipped a few essays that didn't grab me...
